N.I.M.R.D. “Grigore Antipa”

Romanian Marine Research Institute (RMRI) “Grigore Antipa” was established in 1970, based on decision of the Council of Ministers no. 256 of 16 March 1970, published in the Official Bulletin no. 20 of 17 March 1970 by merging several small research institutions.

In 1999, by Decision no. 686 of August 23, 1999, published in the Official Monitor no. 434 of September 6, 1999, was established National Institute for Marine Research and Development “Grigore Antipa” by reorganising the Romanian Marine Research Institute (RMRI).

In 2009, by Decision no. 1442 of November 18, 2009, was established I.N.C.D.P.M. Bucharest following consolidation through merger of three institutions: I.C.I.M. Bucharest, N.I.M.R.D. “Grigore Antipa” Constantza and N.I.R.D. “Delta Dunării” Tulcea.

In 2010, by Decision no. 506 of May 26, 2010, published in the Official Monitor no. 382 of June 9, 2010, N.I.M.R.D. “Grigore Antipa” Constanţa acquires the status of subunit with legal personality.
