p. 353 - 356 OBSERVATIONS POST-CHERNOBYL POUR LE SECTEUR ROUMAIN DE LA MER NOIRE V. Patrascu Institute Roumain de Recherches Marines Constanta Abstract This paper presents a synthesis of the post-Chernobyl observations and of the significance of the nuclear accident for the Romanian Black Sea sector. The marine processes have mitigated its impact in that environment which recovered rapidly. We have noticed concentrations of 90Sr (CFs 10/2) and 137Cs (CFs 10/3) in the bottom sediment. The population has been exposed to small doses (<1.2 man.Sv external and <24.3 man.Sv internal for 1986; < 0.1 man.Sv internal for 1991). In 1986 the hereditary risk was <2.4x10/-7 for riparian inhabitant. Key words: marine radioecology, Chernobyl, Black Sea
