Abstract
The paper analyses the variation of the dissolved phosphorus content
in the Romanian Black Sea water. The result are based on the
systematic measurements carried out at Constanta daily and seasonally
on a profile east of Constanta (44 degree 10'N), during June 1991 -
May 1993. Comparative analysis of organic and inorganic phosphorus
content emphasizes a high spatial and temporal variability. An excess
of dissolved phosphorus has been identified in the nearshore zone.
Representing 70% of global dissolved phosphorus, organic form is an
important available nutritive source for coastal waters from Romanian
littoral of the Black Sea.

Key words: Black Sea, Romanian shallow waters, total, organic and
