p. 25 - 40 DONNEES NOUVELLES SUR L'APPORT DE NUTRILITES DU DANUBE ET LEUR NIVEAU DE CONCENTRATION DANS LA ZONE DU LITTORAL ROUMAINE Lucia Popa et Liliana Dorogan Institute Roumain de Recherches Marines Constanta Abstract This study was intended to determine the actual level of nutrients, the temporal variations and the tendency of their evolution in the Danube and inshore marine waters of the Romanian Black Sea littoral. Based on daily measurements at Sulina and Constanta between Dec.1991 and Nov.1992, the paper points out the decrease of the global contribution of nutrients (NO3, PO4, SiO4) from the Danube from 984,7 x 10?3 tons in 1988-1990 to 942,5 x 10?3 tons at present and an obvious and significant decrease of their average concentrations in inshore marine waters. In addition, the distribution features as well as temporal and spatial variations of nutrients during July 1989 and May 1992 in the pre-deltaic area are discussed. High contents of nitrates and silicates were found in the low salinity shallow waters along this eutrophication area.
