p. 171 - 176 QUELQUES CONSIDERATIONS SUR LA PRESENCE ET LA MORTALITE DES DAUPHINS SUR LE LITTORAL ROUMAIN DE LA MER NOIRE F. Vasiliu et Ligia Dima Complexe Museal des Sciences Naturelles Constanta Abstract The work provides information on the strandings and by catches of the dolphins along the Romanian Black Sea - shore throught '84-'90. The respective data concerns 60 kms length from the total of 220 kms between Cap Midia and Vama Veche sites. In all mentioned years without exception the most numerous landed and/or caught cetaceans were Phocaena phocaena specimens (496 catches, 155 strandings-in all) followed by Delphinus delphis (35 catches, 30 landings) and Tursiops truncatus (7 catches, 8 strandings). For the last species we emphase the uptakes to be performed by navy specialized crews for non-consumptive uses in the Daulphinarium from Constanta. The great number of the Ph. phocaena and D. delphis captures were incidental, caused by the fishing gear.
