p. 289 - 300 COMPOSITION CHIMIQUE ET ACTIVITE ANTIINFLAMATOIRE, ESSENTIELLEMENT ANTIHYALURONIDASIQUE, DU PRODUIT ALFLUTOP R - SOLUTION INJECTABLE, MEDICAMENT ORIGINAL ROUMAIN OBTENU D'ORGANISMES MARINS Natalia Rosoiu Institute Roumain de Recherches Marines Constanta Abstract The Romanian original drug ALFLUTOP R - the injectable solution, prevents the dizorganization of the normally constituted macro- molecular structures and stimulates the tissue and periarticular restitution in inflamatory affections located at the level of the interstitial and periarticular tissues, including the articular cartilage; it influences favourably the Ca ion dynamics in the components with plastic and supporting role. The term of antihyalu- ronidase is used for indicating the inhibitory effect on the enzymatic activity of hydrolysis of the mucopolysaccharide called hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid is distributed in the fun- damental substance of the conjunctive tissue and achieves a role of tissular bond, working as an intercellular "cement". In the degenerative rheumatic arthropathies, the hyaluronic acid is intensively depolymerizated by the hyaluronidase. So, the anti- inflamatory effect of our original drug consists in inhibating this enzyme which becomes "inapt" to depolymerizate the hyaluronic acid. On the other hand, in the presence of the enzyme and an assembly of specifical chemical compounds: free amino acids, sugars (glycogen, hexoses, glucuronate), cations with very important role (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu and Zn) etc., the biosynthesis of the hyaluronic acid takes place "in vivo" from its components. These two phenomena lead to a common final point, the antiinflmatory and tissue restitutive effects, also initiating other enzymatic processes of restitution (for example cartilaginouses).
