Abstract
The authors analyses the fishing possibilities with a 2000 G.R.T.
stern trawler on the basis of Romanian catches obtained in the
Mauritanian waters in 1970-1972 as on the experimental cruise in
1975. The lack of periodicity, the transitive aspect between the
North and the South part of the Northwest African area and some
ecological unbalances are amphasised. It comes to the conclusion
that for these kind of fishing vessels (more than 2000 G.R.T.)
there is possible to obtain 20-30 m t/day catch on species of
high economical value.
