PENAEID SHRIMP FROM THE COAST OF LEBANON

Abstract
Seven species of penaeid shrimp, all substantiated by preserved 
specimens, are now reported from Lebanon. Except for Sicyonia 
carinata(Brunnich, 1768) which was reported in 1931 by Monod, 
Penaeus keraturus(Forskal, 1775), Penaeus japonicus (Bate, 1888), 
Penaeus sulcatus (De Haan, 1844), Parapenaeus longirostris 
(Lucas, 1846), Metapenaeus stebbingi (Nobili, 1904) are here reported 
for the first time from the coastal waters of Lebanon.
