SYNOPTIC CONDITIONS FOR STRONG WINDS GENESIS
OVER THE BLACK SEA

Abstract
On the basis of long-term observations carried out at Constanta, the
synoptic conditions generating strong winds at the Romanian Black Sea
shore are presented in the paper. The analysis of the synoptic data
recorded in more than 50 years pointed out four typical situations
for the occurrence of strong winds over the Black Sea in the cold
season.
