CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOULING
ON THE ROMANIAN MARITIME SHIPS

Abstract
The authors conducted a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the
fouling on the Romanian ships harboured in Constantza - Black Sea, on
the basis of 152 samples collected from the keel of 16 ships having
operated in different geographical areas.
The results obtained are correlated with the utilization rate of the
ships and with the main geographical areas travelled by them (the
Black Sea - Romanian shore, the Black Sea - the Mediterranean and the
Black Sea - the Mediterranean - other seas).
